Job Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this position are to assemble and characterize parts, components and systems for lasers, including:
- Create basic design of optical systems, design optical experiments, perform optical measuring and analyze optical data.
- Develop laboratory lasers, including optical alignment, beam quality measurements, air and water cooling of diode lasers, optical setups, fiber/diode laser mounting, beam and power testing and characterizing diode and diode pumped solid state lasers.
- Resolve engineering problems.
Job Requirements:
- BS/MS in optical engineering, physics, or related field with strong focus on practical and theoretical optics.
- Minimum 5 years technical experience developing optical systems and lasers, preferably in a high tech R&D, product development or manufacturing environment.
- High degree of technical integrity and commitment to project completion.
